This was originally where the about.html was supposed to go but I had
some different ideas. A showcase of my works is what I decided upon for
this page. So, sit back, relax and enjoy reading through a short summary
of what I've been up to over these years.

Pixel Art

Pixel art, or PIXAL ART!!!11oneoneas it was known in the turn of the 21st century, is something I've been doing on and off since 2003, back when a wacky Russian game translator created an english language hack for the software called RPG Maker 2000. I was quite active in the community that sprung around it, although their time under the sun was short.

Ever since then, I've been working with pixel art, including but not limited to just RPGMaker games over the years. Sure, they were fun to practice with, but pixel art has a lot of applications in a variety of games and asset creation as well. It was a pleasant start, which I've branched out to a variety of different creative endeavors which actually come in handy when it comes to game development. Take a look-see at the best ones I have.

One of my older works, made for an RPG way back in 2007.
It's the Resident Evil 4 Merchant!

GUI and Game Asset production

In early 2003, I started out with edits - but by 2006, I was handling full on GUI and Game Asset production, including but not limited to game objects, display icons and a variety of customized resources for the game devs of that era. It got me in some hot water when I made resources that were so much in high demand that theft wars were a thing. Those were good times, but sadly, none of those drama-filled websites survive to this day.

But what DOES survive are my carefully-stored resources. Look at some of the choicest bits.

A simple enemy and target display for a base defense minigame.

The planet Earth, in three rotary poses. Ain't she cute?

The planet Earth, now animated!

A set of game bars, made for a friend. Blank one as a template, followed by health, stamina and magic.

I didn't stop at that, though. Over time, I moved on to Flash MX2004, and Flash CS4 - adding further tools to my then-retro toolset.

A textbox I made, complete with transparency for all those VN needs!

Random items from a previous project of mine.
(From left to right, Puchuu Armcannon, Body Armor, Legendary Cheese and Mystery Liquid X)

Shotgun.
I called it 'a little too much tacticool'.

Graphics

Not content with just designing GUI elements and items, I started dabbling with complete graphics design. It was a difficult jump, but with better equipment and time, I managed to start working on actual graphics.

A cyberspace-themed battle background.
Inspired by a design by my friend Lime.

Game Development

Making the jump to fully making games without using external resources has been a challenge, but one that's worth it. I have quite the collection of projects released over the years that you can play here. While I have been making games since 2003, it hasn't been a solid career, with IRL interruptions often getting in the way of game dev as a full-time job. Recently, it's gotten to be less of a problem.

Have a look-see at some of my best projects.

Sticker Tycoon
A simple business sim I made, inspired by real-world events. No, really. This happened.

The player starts with minimal resources aside from a large order of sticker paper.

The player can make money through part-time work, bank investments and selling stickers in the mall. Later on, phone orders become the mainstay of your empire.

As the game continues, the player can upgrade ther operations, invest in the bank and upgrade the work space from a small sitting room hobby to a full-time operational hub.

Creative Writing

Over the years, I've also dabbled in some level of creative writing. In short, I'm willing to handle writing reviews, proofreading and even ghostwriting if your offer's really good.

Furthermore, I've also started writing up tabletop RPG books for my own amusement. If you see something you'd like, feel free to take a look - who knows, maybe you'll get the urge to do some really good writing after setting off on an adventure of your own?

Project Management

This is something I've started doing very recently. As my IRL job involves the same, I thought; why not provide the same service to people who really need motivation, tools and guidance in their own projects? From motivation and advice, to helping you manage your time and hitting those goals you've set for yourself, I can do that.

A character sheet for an omake game I'm currently working on.
These are NPCs that appear in the game (Can you guess some of them?).

Pixel art weapons like these were all the rage. I can still draw 'em even now.

If you see this somewhere, now you know!

A custom earthbound-style charset I made for a friend of mine.

THE WATAIFU! Made for my friend Waifu @waifu@waifuism.life.

Some stuff I made for a previous project.
Clockwise from left, Goodest Boy, 2x4s, Mystic Stone, Mikan Juusu and Katana.

Sex Kitten series

My best work thus far. Originally created by HaZard and Rellis of early forkheads fame, this game series is ongoing to this very day because I took over production in a drunken frenzy one night late 2009. It's an honor to keep going, and I'll keep at it for many years to come.

Take a look at the screencaps from what I think is the best ones I ever made.

Sex Kitten: HELL!

One of the most complex games of its time, Sex Kitten: HELL! (alt-link) - the excuse plot this time is that a shopping trip for some completely harmless and normal groceries becomes a side-trip through hell! Ain't life grand? Credits to OJJ for directing this game.

Sex Kitten RPG 2

One of my early masterpieces, this massive RPG spans three worlds - debuting systems that are used to this very day. A top-down RPG is a lot harder to manage than the ol' point and click... want to play it? Check it out here.

Note to self, I really should improve on this system. I have so many tweaks for it in mind...

Tis a silly place, ain't it?

Sex Kitten: Oh Brother!

Obligatory Finnish Swearing.

A relatively recent entry, this game is when I truly started experimenting with multiple endings, instead of the ol' "Don't die/get item for best ending", leaving the means to resolve this incident in the hands of the player's choices rather than fate. It was fun to make. In this chapter of YOUR LIFE, you're challenged to throw a party for Slutty McSlut! Are you insane enough to actually pull it off or will you do something else entirely?

Extra goods Negima Sim Date (beta 0.31a)

Some screencaps from Negima Sim Date (unreleased beta 0.31a).
I gotta admit, making this thing was an educational experience. I made so many comical mistakes early on, that even now there's some leftover wonky in this prototype. I'm glad I learned, though; it's given me the edge I need to really make good games.
